Overview
MSU’s Institute of Water Research and Department of Resource Development offer four Internet-based courses leading to undergraduate or graduate course credit or a professional certificate in watershed concepts and management. Watershed management requires an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving and decision making. Engineering, biology, hydrology, and chemistry converge with law, policy, community development, and resource economics to create watershed approaches to resolve the challenges of resource management. This program focuses both on the science underlying water resource management and on the policy making, public relations, and program evaluation required to be an effective watershed management leader.
It is the responsibility of each student to be aware of and understand university regulations as published. To review the complete approved description of this program as well as academic policies and student rights and responsibilities, visit the Michigan State University Academic Programs site. Students may be admitted for the fall (August), spring (January), or summer (May) semester.
