  • Overview
    Available in the Detroit area, MSU’s Master of Arts Program in Advertising is designed to prepare students for positions in advertising management or advertising research with manufacturers, service industries, retailers, advertising or public relations agencies, advertising media, and non-profit organizations. The curriculum combines core courses that emphasize fundamental knowledge and skills with a series of approved electives that extend the base of knowledge to a specific application. Coursework integrates advertising, public relations, sales promotion, and direct marketing. Students are exposed to practical industry problems and situations in several different classroom teaching settings, from case analysis to research laboratories. They benefit from working with an academic faculty rich in professional experience, who have constant interaction with industry professionals; from exposure to practical industry problems and situations; and from the convenience of the location in the Metro Detroit Area.

    Start Date (Program Cycle)
    Students are encouraged to begin study in the fall semester (beginning in late August). If collateral (prerequisite) courses are required, students may begin in the spring (January) or summer (May) semesters.
