  • Overview
    Bring together the world-acclaimed expertise of Michigan State University's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the "close to home" convenience of an outstanding community college ­ Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. The Applied Plant Science program prepares graduates for a wide range of employment and career choices. Each student receives personal, one-on-one help selecting her/his program of study (including workplace internship) with degree and certificate options in: Commercial Horticulture Operations, Landscape and Nursery, or Commercial Turfgrass Operations. Courses are scheduled during evenings and some weekends convenient for many working adult learners. Need-based tuition assistance is available. The Commercial Turf Operations option offers a large number of opportunities for employment and career advancement in the "green" industry including commercial turf care, resort properties, grounds management, golf and winter sports facilities, and other related fields.
